can my hubby buy a hdb without my name (first timer)? if im listed as the occupier, can I don’t sell away my current hdb unit?
HDB Regulations is that If you are a married couple, you will only be able to own one. So if you do go ahead to buy another HDB, you will be made to sell the one you are currently owning. But let us look deeper at the purpose of purchasing a 2nd HDB Flat using your Husband’s name – is for the purpose of investment because you will only live in one HDB flat at anyone time. Since your husband’s name is currently not listed as the owner of the HDB flat, he is then free to go ahead to purchase a Private Property in his name, you can then choose to lease the HDB or Lease the Condo unit. Of course, it is important to address the risks especially financially, if you are able to support the burden of two mortgages if you are currently still paying the mortgage for your HDB.
