Unveiling the blueprint for Singapore’s urban planning for the next 10 to 15 years, National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan said on Friday:
“Together with the Sports Hub, Kallang Riverside will be a significant sports and lifestyle cluster with a slice of history, supported by beachfront hotels.”
Some 600,000 sq m of commercial space would be set aside for development, with 3,000 hotel rooms expected to be built. In addition, 4,000 new private waterfront homes would offer “more opportunities for Singaporeans to enjoy city living”, said Mr Mah.
This quiet but beautiful area near the fringe of the city with prime freehold and leasehold premium condo in the Tanjong Rhu and Meyer Road district. With the area near the sports hub this has come at the most impecable timing. This is surely to to give an added boost to the value of the properties in the vicinity. Although the area is set to have 4000 private waterfront homes, it is doubtful that the prices will be similar to ultra-highend prices seen at Sentosa Cove and the Marina Bay area (which were between $3000-$4000psf) at the peak of the most recent property boom.
